49th International Motor Show kicks off in Belgrade

The International Motor Show taking place from 25th March – 3rd April at Belgrade Fair, is one of the 19 world car shows officially registered by the International Fair Association – OICA. Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic opened the 49th International Motor Show, held jointly with the 6th International Fair of Motorcycles and Bicycles “Moto Passion”.
The numbers illustrating 49th International Motor Show and 6th International Show of Motorcycles and Bicycles MOTOPASSION 2011, speak for themselves – 85 Fair premieres, 58 innovations, 37 brands and 20 top premieres, will be on display.
The International Motor Show taking place from 25th March – 3rd April at Belgrade Fair, is one of the 19 world car shows officially registered by the International Fair Association – OICA. The 6th International Show of Motorcycles and Bicycles MOTOPASSION is held simultaneously with the 49th International Motor Show.
The strategic partners of the Motor Show are the Serbian Association of the Vehicle and Parts Importers and the Association of the Serbian Road Vehicle Manufacturers, while the general sponsor of the Show, as in previous years, is DELTA GENERALI Osiguranje.Under the slogan "A Feast for the Eyes", some 450 manufacturers, importers and distributors of all car brands present on our market will be displayed on 35.000sq.mts. exhibition space. Among the participants are several banks, leasing companies and insurance companies.
Almost for half a century Belgrade Motor Show has been presenting the achievements of the world car industry as the main purpose of the event, but this Show has always been known for its attractive programmes, such as the Fair Rally, "Old Timers’ Parade", the "Oscar of Prestige", "Hostess Contest", sweepstakes for the visitors giving away Fiat Punto, as well as drives and expert lectures.
On the occasion of the twenty years of successful cooperation, Belgrade Fair media partner – SAT Media Group, has prepared as many as 11.000 presents for the 49th Motor Show, the most valuable of which is DACIA DUSTER, to be given to the most skillful driver with the entry ticket, who will also show the best knowledge in the safe driving.
The usual conception of the Show will be accompanied by the trade organisations, associations and clubs. AMS will be marking the significant milestone – its 90th anniversary, while the first-time exhibitors is the National Agency for the Traffic Safety.
The Youth Office of the Belgrade City Administration will promote an incentive "Whether You Drive, Or Drink", while the Association of the Serbian Vehicle Manufacturers will organise an expert conference entitled "Safety in Traffic and Technical Regulations for Vehicles".
The same topic will be referred to the Fair’s premiere appearance of the National Association of the Technical Inspection NATEP. With the promotion of regulations in technical working order of the vehicles, two technical inspection lines will be installed, for the cars and motorcycles.
Petrovic opens 49th International Auto Show in Belgrade
Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic opened the 49th International Motor Show, held jointly with the 6th International Fair of Motorcycles and Bicycles “Moto Passion”.
Petrovic pointed out that this is the oldest and most prestigious exhibition of automobile industry in the region and a very important event for Serbia's economy.
Because of the domestic producer Fiat Automobili Srbija, manufacturers of auto parts and components, both from our country and abroad, have shown great interest in participating in the International Motor Show, said the Minister.
Petrovic said that 450 manufacturers, importers and distributors of all automotive brands are taking part in the fair.
The Minister said that Serbia is strategically open to further strengthening of macroeconomic and political stability, creating a dynamic business environment, attracting foreign investment, more rapid integration into the EU single market and thereby raising the competitiveness of products and services, increasing exports, increasing employment and living standards.
