South East Europe Belgrade Building Expo (SEEBBE) 2012 was opened in Belgrade Tuesday, hosting over 850 exhibitors from the country and abroad.
The trade fair will feature the latest technological advances in the building industry and energy efficiency management and trends in the interior and exterior design.
Opening the fair, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic said that the state had invested the most money in the construction sector, between EUR 450 and 500 million, RSD 18 billion of which went into public infrastructure projects (EUR 1 = RSD 111.5).
Dulic said Serbia was currently building a total of 91 schools, 18 hospitals and other health-care institutions, 26 cultural centers, 49 stadiums, swimming pools and sports centers and 68 public infrastructure projects, such as water supply and sewage networks and parks.
He said that the state had hired the majority of the construction companies in Serbia through the implementation of its first pillar of aid. The second pillar of the state aid has been put into construction of residential buildings, Dulic added.
He said that the implementation of the third pillar of state aid began yesterday with the construction of a total of 1,700 social flats. He pointed to new energy efficiency projects, totaling RSD 1.3 billion, that were in plan for the future, and to about 100 quality projects that had arrived.
