The Promachonas border post and railroad station are open, ANA reports although according to the latest reports 15 TIR trucks have been waiting at Kulata – Promachonas border checkpoint, FOCUS – Pirin radio reporter announced. The checkpoint has been closed for heavy-freight vehicles for four hours now. Only cars, buses and vans are allowed to cross the border. There is no information whether the blockade will be lifted in the night. Situation at Kulata railways station is normal.
Egnatia motorway at the Kedryllia intersection opened at 6:30 a.m. due to heavy snowfall. Farmers said they decided to leave their posts in order to facilitate the snowgraders' work.
Moreover, Egnatia motorway on the section linking Serres with Kavala and the old national highway will remain open throughout the day.
Traffic is unobstructed at the Ormenio and Kipi checkpoints, although with farmers maintain their tractors lined up on both sides of the road.
