Law on Referendum and Civic initiative was adopted last night at the RS NA. This Law was proposed by the RS Government by urgent procedure.

46 delegates voted for the Law, 16 were against and 6 were restrained.

Bosniak delegates were not present at the special session on this point, since they believe that the Law is anti-constitutional and anti-Dayton and they do not want to participate in such activities.

SNSD’s amendments were adopted with the Law.

Opposition parties, SDS, PDP and SRSRS, accused during the discussion, the ruling SNSD that it uses referendum again as election trick, since it does not envisage when and what issue can referendum be organized on.

The ruling parties believe that, since those issues are not defined in the Law, it will pass if, the not on the Council of Peoples that is Bosniak caucus, then at the RS Constitutional Court.
