National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGH) issued a Code Yellow alert for floods, valid from Friday to Sunday.

National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGH) issued a Code Yellow alert for floods, valid from Friday to Sunday.

Warnings were issued for Crasna and Crisul Repede (tributaries) river basins, Crisul Negru and Crisul Alb (north-west), Bega, Timis, Barzava, Moravita, Caras, Nera, Desnatui (west) and Jiu, Olt, Vedea and Nejalov (south).

Because of the current hydrometeorological situation, the existing snow layer and the abundant rainfalls forecast can cause increases in the rivers flows, with alert quotas to be most probably exceeded, on the Crasna River (in Salaj and Satu Mare counties) and on Crisul Repede (tributaries) catchment areas - in Bihor county, Crisul Negru (Bihor), Crisul Alb (Hunedoara and Arad counties), Bega, Timis, Barzava, Moravita, Caras Severin, Desnatui (Dolj county), Jiu - Gorj, Mehedinti and Dolj counties, lower Olt river (Oltet, Cungrea, Teslui, Beica) - in the Gorj, Valcea and Olt counties, Vedea and Neajlov rivers in Olt, Teleorman, Arges and Giurgiu counties.

Romanian Waters National Administration monitors 24 hours 7 days a week the watercourses of the river basin under alert.
