Negotiations on the joint European Union/International Monetary Fund financial aid mechanism for Greece will be concluded May 2, and EU heads of state and government as well as the IMF will vote on the plan May 10, the German government told the lower house of parliament in a written note, a person with access to the note told Dow Jones Newswires Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal writes.
If approved by all, Greece will receive loans by May 19, in time to refinance around EUR9 billion of debt, the government said.
The person was quoting from the parliamentary document, which also said euro-zone finance ministers will discuss the outcome of the joint Greek program May 4, with the Greek parliament set to debate the measures May 6 or 7.
