Bulgaria, Romania and Greece adopted in Bucharest a joint declaration in support of the European integration of the Western Balkan countries.

After the inking of the document, Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov said that it gave new impetus to the debate on the Community’s enlargement in the direction of the Balkans.

He pointed out however that the success of the process depended on the domestic reforms in the countries, so that progress could be made on the European agenda, regional cooperation and bilateral ties.

The declaration was adopted 10 days prior to the EU-Balkans summit.
