On 15 June the European Commission launched a new action supporting internships programmes in the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

The participants are national prosecutors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia working on domestic war crimes cases and young professionals from the former Yugoslavia with a legal background.

The overall objective of the 12-month project is to strengthen the capacity of the countries of the former Yugoslavia to effectively investigate and prosecute war crimes.
