The death toll from fires in Central Russia and the Volga region reaches 28 people, the Emergencies Ministry reported on Saturday.

According to the Emergencies Ministry, seven people died in the Moscow region (the settlement of Mokhovoye), five people in the Voronezh region, 12 people in the Nizhny Novgorod region and four people in the Ryazan region.

Two fire-fighters of the Emergencies Ministry were among those who died during the fire.
