Greece, Iceland, Turkey, Russia and Romania are the first countries which British tourists would refrain from visting this year, according to a poll conducted in the United Kingdom and quoted by Realitatea.net.

Thus, 13 per cent of the British avoid Greece owing to fears linked with financial instability.

This is followed by Iceland (9 pc), Turkey and Russia (7 pc) and Romania, avoided by 5 per cent of the British.

Moreover, many British will spend their holiday at home this summer, for fear of the problems which tour operators and air flights may be faced with, as well for fear that a renewed crisis may strike the euro zone.

One in four tourists (23 pc) will spend more free days in Great Britain this year than they did last year.
