Albanian police said on Saturday they had arrested seven people linked to the murder of a member of the country’s ethnic Greek minority, a killing Athens said sought to inflame ethnic tensions.

“The suspects, aged 19 to 22, ran over Aristotelis Goumas, 35, with their car after he fled on his motorbike following an argument on Thursday in the town of Himara, around 240 kilometres southwest of Tirana,” police said.

“Following Friday’s arrests, police are still searching for the car’s driver, named as Ilir Mukaj,” a police statement said.
