Romania ranks 39th in a top of the best 100 states, made by Newsweek magazine, where comes after all EU states. Factors like education, medical care, health quality, economic dynamism and political environment are taken into consideration. Cyprus, a member of EU was not included in the top.

Bulgaria comes before Romania while Kuwait is 40th.Romania is 49th as concerns education, 50th for health and 38th for the quality of life.
The evaluation of health takes into account the number of life years of a citizen without diseases or disabilities. In this case Romania is at the same level as Oman and comes after China. Bulgaria is 42nd. In the analysis of the quality of life they took into consideration the equality of sexes, the share of poor people, the distribution of wealth, the suicide rate, the quality of environment and the share of the active population. In this case Romania is 38th after Bulgaria.
In the case of economic dynamism, Romania ranks 56th, 36th for political environment being evaluated according to GDP increase, the GDP share of services and industrial output, innovations, access to new companies in the market and the size of stock market. Bulgaria is two positions ahead Romania, the 54th.
The quality of political environment was measured by comparing democratic freedom, the share of people involved in elections and political stability. Romania is here before Bulgaria, which ranks 38th. The classification made by the US magazine is headed by Finland, followed by Switzerland and Sweden. The US ranks 11th and Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Cameroon are last.The European states ranked after Romania are Ukraine (49th), Russia (51st), Turkey (52nd) and Albania (57th).
