Earthquake hits Zagreb,and Mostar

Croatian Seismological Survey recorded Wednesday at 4.08 pm a moderately strong quake with epicenter approximately twenty kilometers southwest from Zagreb, but for now there is no information on possible damages. European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) registered at 4.28 pm in the area of Mostar an earthquake 3.4 on the Richter scale.

Croatian Seismological Survey recorded Wednesday at 4.08 pm a moderately strong quake with epicenter approximately twenty kilometers southwest from Zagreb, but for now there is no information on possible damages.

According to the report, the quake was 3.2 on the Richter scale and between 4 and 5 on Mercalli scale, and the tremor was felt in a wider Zagreb area.

Croatian media reported on Wednesday about the quake in Kraljevo, Serbia, but also in Turkey, which additionally disturbed citizens.

Head of Croatian Seismological Survey Vlado Kuk stated that quakes stronger than the one that hit Serbia on Wednesday night and morning could be expected in Croatia.

European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) registered at 4.28 pm in the area of Mostar an earthquake 3.4 on the Richter scale. Quake’s epicenter was 16 kilometers southeast of Mostar, Bosnian news agency Fena reports. Quakes of this magnitude are notable, but do not cause material damage.
