The Council of Ministers adopted on Wednesday the 2011’s budget. Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared that the majority of this budget will serve to improve road infrastructure, and he added that there will be further increase of salaries and pensions.

When talking about the subventions for municipalities and communes, Berisha noted that only 18 percent of them will be used as a fund for salaries and 82 percent will serve the citizens’ needs.

Head of the government criticized the absence of bus season tickets in Tirana, by considering this an intolerable situation. He asked the municipality of Tirana to find a solution to this problem and the implementation of contracts. Berisha also warned the removal of licenses for operators that infringe the law.

“The 2011 budget would not have the actual value; it would not be able to define the main priorities for the country. I emphasized this fact because we are dealing with a realist project, which will preserve the macro-economic stability, as the most important mechanism for the economic development of the country. This year’s budget strongly supports economic growth for the next year, which of course is a very important condition for the quick development of the country. The budget completely supports the priorities of the government’s program,” said Berisha.
