Bulgarian, Cyprus news agencies sign cooperation agreement

The signing of the document is on the agenda of the international conference entitled "Bulgaria and Cyprus: Media, Education, Business", held on November 15 and 16 in Sofia and Plovdiv.

Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Maxim Minchev and the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) Chairman of the Board Costakis Constantinou Tuesday signed a Cooperation Agreement in Plovdiv (Southern Bulgaria).

The signing of the document is on the agenda of the international conference entitled "Bulgaria and Cyprus: Media, Education, Business", held on November 15 and 16 in Sofia and Plovdiv.

"This agreement enriches our relations as information agencies and as national media," Minchev said. He recalled that a cooperation agreement between the two agencies was first signed three years ago and today's document expands and complements their interaction.

Constantinou said the updating and enriching of the document is proof of the excellent relations between the two agencies which are to the benefit of the people and do not remain only within the narrow frame of journalism.

The ceremony, held at the Museum of History, was attended by MP Velichka Shopova, member of the parliamentary Culture Committee,Plovdiv Regional Governor Ivan Totev, citizens and media representatives.
