The high intensity of rain and water is placing at risk the dykes of hydro power plants. In the Drin and Mat cascades, the great amount of water flow makes it obligatory to open the gates of hydro power plants.

The high intensity of rain and water is placing at risk the dykes of hydro power plants. In the Drin and Mat cascades, the great amount of water flow makes it obligatory to open the gates of hydro power plants.

According to information provided by KESH, the water level in Fierza Lake has reached to 291 meters and the water supply reaches to 1100 cubic meter per second.

Even the level of water discharge is the same. The water level in the Koman Lake has reached to 170 meters; the lateral water supply reaches to 750 cubic meters per second, and the water discharge reaches to 1200 cubic meters per second.

The situation is more serious in Vau i Dejes, where the obligatory water discharge reaches to more than 2800 cubic meters per second.

Even the opening of the gates in the hydro power plants of Ulza and Shkopet caused several problems. The high level of water discharge caused the water to pass over the bridge of Mat, by blocking traffic in Burrel-Tirane road.
