Albanian parliament voted Wednesday to lift the immunity of a former Prime Minister Ilir Meta, following the request of prosecution office asking authorization to start legal proceedings against him, Albanian ATA agency reported.
Meta resigned from office on January 14, after a local television station broadcasted a video allegedly showing Meta trying to influence him over a state tender for a hydropower station.
Meta became Economy Minister in September, replacing Dritan Prifti, who resigned after being accused of corruption himself.
