Macedonian section of the BBC World Service will broadcast news for the last time on Friday, following January's decision of the company board over its annulment together with the sections in Serbian and Albanian languages as part of the saving measures, MIA reports from London.

The news broadcast at 17:30 UK time will mark the end of the BBC Macedonian section, which aired for more than 15 years.

The sections in Serbian and Albanian languages ceased their broadcast two weeks ago.

The final decision on closure of the three BBC sections was passed by the Foreign Office. In a Parliament debate, Foreign Secretary William Hague said five sections, including the three on the Balkans, would be closed, whereas the operation of the European sections to be placed in the BBC competence both financially and technically.
