The Montenegrin government has in the first 100 days of its work fulfilled almost all of the set priorities, which was the best achievement in the period, the country's Prime Minister Igor Luksic has said, pointing out that he is optimistic when it comes to the fulfillment of obligations towards the European Commission for receiving the date of the pre-accession talks for EU membership.

Luksic said the entire administration had behaved responsibly regarding fulfilling the obligations, adding that that had assured him Montenegro was capable of addressing Europe's priorities in a like manner.

Given the global price increases which affected Montenegro just like the rest of the world, Luksic said the government had managed to mitigate the consequences of the recession in the social sphere and keep the political, social and macroeconomic stability.

At the same time, over the past 100 days, we have opened institutions in the broadest spectrum of actors in society and launched dialogs with NGOs and the opposition which resulted in reaching a consensus about European integration, Luksic told the Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda.

According to him, Montenegro is expecting a huge amount of obligations on its European integration path and in meeting them it will have the opportunity to improve the segments recognized as the country's weak spots.

Luksic's cabinet marked the first 100 days of its work on Thursday. Luksic was proposed for the office by Milo Djukanovic, who resigned as the prime minister on December 21, 2010.
