Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik said Friday he would not accept any potential sanctions by the international community for the parliament decision to call a referendum on the laws imposed by the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik said Friday he would not accept any potential sanctions by the international community for the parliament decision to call a referendum on the laws imposed by the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

He claims he is not afraid of any sanctions.

Ambassadors of the the countries that are part of the Peace Implementation Council will meet in Sarajevo on Friday to discuss the decision by the RS parliament, according to High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko.

Inzko has not excluded the possibility of sanctions because of the referendum.

Former high representative Paddy Ashdown has even allowed for the use of force in this case. Dodik, however, commented that Ashdown only gives statements when asked to do so by certain groups in Sarajevo. He believes Ashdown did nothing but cause problems in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

"Bosnia-Herzegovina would be more stable if it had not been for him," said the RS president.
