The vehicle, property of the Socialist Party’s (SP) candidate for the commune of Shtiqni, Astrit Cengu, exploded during the first morning hours on Wednesday, May 5, in one of Kukes streets.

The explosion happened few moments after Cengu and his relative had gotten out of the car. As a consequence, they were slightly wounded.

From the preliminary investigation, it resulted that the cause of the explosion was a bomb, which was controlled from a remote control. Nevertheless, investigation continues by the police of Kukes, who are being helped by experts from Tirana.

The electoral campaign in the district of Kukes was mainly quiet, except for the threat against LZHK’s candidate for mayor in the commune of Bushtrica, Shahir Sula.
