High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Valentin Inzko stated that the Republika Srpska (RS) government has been given a seven-day deadline to annul the decision on the referendum regarding the laws imposed by the high representative, especially those that refer to the BiH Court and Prosecutor's Office.

In a statement for Television BN TV, Inzko said that he is due to visit the U.S. and attend the New York meeting, during which he would inform UN and U.S. officials about the situation in BiH.

Inzko noted that upon his return from the U.S. he would see whether the authorities have withdrawn the decision on the referendum, adding that he is waiting to see what the RS government would do on the issue and if the RS authorities fail to withdraw the decision, the high representative will do it for them.

He said that RS President Milorad Dodik and Parliament Speaker Igor Radojcic have been notified about this.

Inzko said that officials at the Thursday meeting of the Peace Implementation Council in BiH in Sarajevo did not mention sanctions toward RS.
