Eight people were injured during violent incidents that occurred around Syntagma Square early on Wednesday, on the margins of a demonstration by the Indignant Citizens' Movement.

In addition to the eight civilians, one injured police officer was admitted to the 401 military hospital earlier in the day.

A later announcement said that seven of the eight civilians sufferend only minor injuries, while journalist Tassos Telloglou was kept in for observation after exhibiting symptoms of post-traumatic amnesia.

The documentary maker and journalist had been attacked by unidentified individuals at the corner of Lekka and Perikleous street.
