Turkey's President Abdullah Gul has postponed his visit to neighboring Bulgaria, initially scheduled for July 3 and 4, for a week later, due to the opening of his country's first new Parliamentary session.

The first session of the new Turkish parliament is scheduled for Tuesday, but Gul insists on personally following all developments on the creation of recently reelected Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdogan's new government, the Bulgarian National Radio explains.

The Turkish President has already called for the country's opposition parties to attend Tuesday's opening session of Parliament after each complained bitterly about courts refusing to release their members from prison, Hurriyet Daily News reports.

Besides his Bulgarian visit, Gul has also postponed his upcoming trip to Montenegro.

Earlier in June, Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) secured itself a majority in Parliament for the third consecutive time.
