Construction works on Andricgrad start in Visegrad

Andricgrad will be built in three stages which should be completed in 2014. The Andricgrad project is based on the novel The Bridge on the Drina by Ivo Andric, the winner of the 1961 Nobel Prize in Literature.
Construction works on Andricgrad in Visegrad (Bosnia-Herzegovina) were officially opened on Tuesday.
The idea to build this stone city project was given by movie director Emir Kusturica. Besides Kusturica, the ceremony was attended by the President and Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik and Alexandar Dzombic and several ministers from the RS government and a number of guests and residents of Visegrad and surrounding areas.
The ceremony started with the performance of parts of the Carmina Burana opera by the Choir and the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television Serbia.
