Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha communicated his support and understanding to Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Thaci regarding actions in northern Kosovo and said that he considers them legitimate.

Berisha and Thaci conferred on Sunday, the Kosovo government stated in a release, but did not specify the exact location of the meeting.

The release also notes that Thaci informed Berisha that there will be no going back when it comes to decisions of the Pristina government and that there will be no consequences, only progress in full respect of Kosovo's sovereignty and integrity in this part of the territory.

Thaci added that the decision to set up legality and constitutionality in northern Kosovo was adopted after a total of 12 years so that a stop could be put on smuggling activities.

Berisha and Thaci believe that all attempts at re-opening the issue of border changes also imply border changes in the region, the release states.
