For one more day visitors can see massaging fish at work or take a look at solar-powered boats and other intriguing novelties exhibited at the 9th international innovations fair ARCA held until Saturday, 15 October in national NKS library in Zagreb.

Some 128 exhibitors from Croatia and the world present over 250 innovations that include fish that stimulate blood circulation and skis for walking on water.

At the exhibitions’s opening yesterday, the president of Association of Croatian Innovators (UIH) Stjepan Car said that investment in knowledge and education was a vital component of a competitive society.

"Innovation is based on investment in knowledge and education. At the time of market economies, to work faster, better and in a different way are the basic preconditions for competitiveness," Car said.

The exhibition is also a competition and 30 per cent of exhibitors will receive an award. The real test of the quality of an innovation however are the market and its buyers.

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy Tihana Kraljic said that the ministry has supported innovative projects in the last three years with 800 grants worth more than 28 million kunas (3.8 million Euros), portal Business writes.
