Montenegrin and Macedonian Foreign Ministers, Milan Roćen and Nikola Popovski, signed the EU accession cooperation agreement between the two countries earlier today.

The two ministers agreed that the agreement, signed between the two EU candidate countries for which the European Commission recommended the opening of accession talks, is of great importance for both countries, in particular for Montenegro, as it can use rich Macedonian experience in addressing the EU agenda.

Minister Popovski remarked that the EC's report on the two countries' advancement in meeting EU integration objectives shows that they are prepared for the process and stressed that it represents a good guideline for future dynamic negotiations in all areas.

Montenegro and Macedonia's joint strategic objectives and interests will help create a positive atmosphere for even better future cooperation which will benefit not only the two countries, but the region and the EU as well, the two ministers concluded.
