The omission of the adjective 'Macedonian' in the European Commission report is not in harmony with the European values, Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki told to EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule on Tuesday in Strasbourg.

The omission of the adjective 'Macedonian' in the European Commission report is not in harmony with the European values, Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki told to EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule on Tuesday in Strasbourg.

"The protection of identity, lingual specifics is part of these values. The existence of Macedonian identity and language may not be ignored, it is a European reality that cannot be altered by being erased in a report," Poposki said.

Poposki told MIA that at his meeting with Fule he expressed belief that EC would be the first to defend those values, which "unfortunately is not the case."

Denial of an identity demonstrates a lack of principles and is not compatible with the goals of European integration, Poposki said at the meeting.
