Video-sharing website YouTube has launched its own film festival, with ten finalists taking part at the Venice Film Festival.
Video-sharing website YouTube has launched its own film festival, with ten finalists taking part at the Venice Film Festival.
"Your Film Festival" contest will open on 2 February and last until March 31, with videos not exceeding 15 minutes in length.
A voting period will follow, during which Scott Free Productions of directors Ridley and Tony Scott will select 50 semi-finalists. YouTube users will then choose 10 finalists, who will travel to Italy on 1-3 September 2012, to see their work open the 69th Annual Venice Film Festival.
The contest winner will be announced at a Your Film Festival ceremony, streamed live from the festival. He or she will receive a ,000 production grant to work with Scott Riley's team to create a new story.
