Turkey’s Limak Holding will invest over €100 million only in construction sector and plans to invest additional €100 million in the sectors such as tourism, energy and agriculture in Macedonia, PM Nikola Gruevski told reporters Saturday.

They have already bought plot of land from the Republic of Macedonia and have development plans, to build hotel, 90.000 sqm shopping mall, residences and other buildings. They will also construct underground road, Gruevski said after opening ceremony of laboratory for digestive endoscopy installed at Skopje’s Clinic for Gastroenterohepatology.

Limak Holding is also interested to invest in other sectors such as energy, tourism, agriculture…

They asked us to help them with ideas where and what to invest. I have agreed meetings with their representatives with government officials aimed at being more detailed informed about possible investment projects. Such investment in our country is certainly a great opportunity for opening new jobs, Gruevski said.

Asked to comment on foreign direct investments in 2011 he assessed that €306 million is excellent figure having in mind that the effect of the debt crisis and recession in EU, started to be felt in the second half of the year.
