President Traian Basescu said in Seoul on Tuesday that Romania pledged to contribute 30,000 euros to the funds of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
President Traian Basescu said in Seoul on Tuesday that Romania pledged to contribute 30,000 euros to the funds of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
'In my speech, I pledged that Romania will contribute an amount of 30,000 euros to the completion of the IAEA funds, in order to have the necessary financial resources to carry out the training sessions for the personnel working in nuclear plants in other states, including in Romania,' the head of state said at the Nuclear Security Summit.
President Traian Basescu stated that Romania is willing to invite experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to evaluate the two reactors at Cernavoda (country's south-east).
"Romania has announced readiness to invite experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency to evaluate the two reactors at Cernavoda, as a guarantee of security and safety of these two reactors operations", said Basescu in Seoul, present at the Nuclear Security Summit.
The head of state announced Romania's plan to build two other nuclear reactors at the Summit in Seoul.
Traian Basescu also said that another commitment assumed by Romania in Seoul is related to providing assistance, including in the area of technical conditions for repatriation of enriched uranium to the countries of origin, as well as for ensuring the safety of radiation sources.
