The 11.1 percent discount off the price of Russian natural gas exported to Bulgaria will become valid from 1 April. In return Bulgaria will speed up procedures for the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline.

The Russian side will most probably abstain from court claims on the occasion of Bulgaria’s decision to terminate the Belene N-plant project.

The reactor that has already been made could be sold off, and a new one could be ordered until a site for a new unit is prepared at the Kozloduy N-plant.

These were the highlights in the press conference held late on Friday in Sofia following Bulgaria-Russia talks in Moscow on issues of energy.
