The Montenegrin Gov't owes EUR 1.5 million

The government has to pay around EUR 1.5 million only for the workers in Niksic, while they need extra funds so the majority of workers could get more years of service

Workers from twenty companies from Niksic, around 750 of them, have not received their severance pay yet, while the Montenegro Workers’ Unions (SSCG), and the government announced this money will be paid in the beginning of this year.

Workers lost their jobs because the companies were shut down or went bankrupt, and most of them are waiting the money that they were guaranteed by the law for several years now.

The government has to pay around EUR 1.5 million only for the workers in Niksic, while they need extra funds so the majority of workers could get more years of service.

A new promise has, according to some workers, arrived recently, when officials asked them to be patient because they would get their money by the end of this month.

One of the workers, Ranko Brajovic, says that he and his 80 colleagues have been waiting for the severance pay for six years now.
