Dances by Danube folklore festival to open in Vidin

There are a total of 125 participants in the international event, including folk ensembles from the Serbian city of Lescovac, the art school in the Romanian city of Targu Jiu and a representative folk dance ensemble and a children's dance company from Vidin.

 The Dances by Danube international folklore festival will be opened at 7:30 pm Wednesday evening in Vidin's river park, the organizers said. The festival is under the auspices of Vidin Municipality Mayor Roumen Vidov and is organized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.

There are a total of 125 participants in the international event, including folk ensembles from the Serbian city of Lescovac, the art school in the Romanian city of Targu Jiu and a representative folk dance ensemble and a children's dance company from Vidin.

On July 2 the participants will meet Vidov and the afternoon festival programme will continue with a concert in Belogradchik.

The festival will be closed with a concert on the stage at Vidin's Baba Vida fort on July 3.
