German NGO Help signed cooperation memorandums with 17 Serbian towns

German non-governmental organization HELP marked its 10th anniversary in Serbia with celebration "Successful together" on Tuesday, November 10, at 11 a.m. in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
German non-governmental organization Help signed Tuesday cooperation memorandums with 17 Serbian towns and municipalities worth about EUR 800,000.
Projects of development of small enterprises will be realized in Aleksinac, Bosilegrad, Bujanovac, Gadzin Han, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Leskovac, Nis, Novi Pazar, Pirot, Presevo, Smederevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Surdulica, Trgoviste, Uzice i Vranje municipalities.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Help's activities in Serbia, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS)Milos Bugarin expressed pleasure at the celebration of the anniversary in cooperation with PKS. PKS wishes in this way to point to the importance of fostering economic cooperation with Germany on Serbia's path towards EU integration, he said.
Germany is one of Serbia's largest donors with about EUR 700 million aid to economic cooperation and development since 2000, he said. In the past two years, that aid was earmarked above all for the development of the energy, utilities and financial sectors, he noted.
German Ambassador to Serbia Wolfram Maas said that the German government has so far granted to Help EUR four million for its projects.
In ten years with nearly 50 projects implemented throughout Serbia, with the total value of over 18 million EUR, HELP provided not only the humanitarian assistance to the socially vulnerable groups of population, but also developed component of construction of housing units for integration of refugees and enhancement of living conditions of internally displaced persons.
HELP had also provided more durable solutions by development oriented projects enabling self-employment and income generation. During the 10-year work in Serbia HELP supported 3169 craft, service and agriculture small businesses.
