In Belgrade yesterday, Serbian President Boris Tadic met with the commander of NATO forces for Europe, Admiral James Stavridis and discussed the activities of Serbia in the Partnership for Peace program as well as cooperation with KFOR in maintaining peace and security in Kosovo and Metohija.
Tadic said that Serbs in Kosovo remain the most endangered people on European soil and that this is why it is necessary that KFOR continues to protect the Serb population and Orthodox monasteries and churches, regardless of NATO decision to reduce the number of troops in the southern Serbian province.
The Serbian President stated that the plan of the so-called International Civilian Office for the integration of northern Kosovo is a threat to the stability of the whole region.
The meeting was attended by Serbian Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Army Miloje Miletic.
