Istanbul Declaration adopted

The declaration expresses appreciation for the courage and visionary approach displayed by the leadership of Serbia and BiH for their determination to overcome historical differences and built a common future based on tolerance and mutual understanding.

 Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Serbian President Boris Tadic and Chairman of the Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Presidency Haris Silajdzic agreed Saturday in Istanbul that the regional policy should in future be based on security for all, continuous political dialogue and preservation of multiethnic, multicultural and multireligious characteristics of the region, reads the joint Declaration adopted at the Istanbul summit.

The declaration expresses appreciation for the courage and visionary approach displayed by the leadership of Serbia and BiH for their determination to overcome historical differences and built a common future based on tolerance and mutual understanding.

The members of the BiH Presidency, Haris Silajdzic, Nebojsa Radmanovic and Zeljko Komsic, are expected to visit Belgrade shortly, reads the Declaration that was filed to Tanjug and which experts qualify as historical.

Tadic and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Srebrenica to commemorate 15th year of the Srebrenica massacre.
