For a European Serbia whip Nada Kolundzija stated Tuesday that she is certain that there will be no change in the Serbian government's policy on Kosovo-Metohija after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) delivers its advisory opinion on the legality of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence.
Kolundzija added that, should there be indications that a parliament act would additionally strengthen the government's position, the parliament may introduce such an act.
Commenting on the requests of the Democratic Party of Serbia and the Liberal Democratic Party that the parliament should hold a session after the ICJ issues its ruling, Kolundzija told the journalists that the government is pursuing a policy in accordance with the one confirmed by the Serbian parliament and based on the resolutions adopted by the parliament.
"Should the government propose measures different from the ones determined by the parliament, then there would be a logical need for the parliament to voice its opinion. On the other hand, one should assess whether the government needs the parliament's support for the steps that are to be taken after the ICJ's ruling," Kolundzija underscored.
She said that she cannot talk about which steps will be taken before the ICJ's opinion is made known, adding that the government has prepared an alternative, depending on the ICJ's ruling.
