Five Serbian cultural sites nominated to UNESCO list

The archeological site of Caricin Grad - Iustiniana Prima, the fortified Manasija Monastery, the historical place of Bac and its surroundings, Rajacke Pivnice and the Smederevo Fortress have been submitted on the tentative list and thus nominated for the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The archeological site of Caricin Grad - Iustiniana Prima, the fortified Manasija Monastery, the historical place of Bac and its surroundings, Rajacke Pivnice and the Smederevo Fortress have been submitted on the tentative list and thus nominated for the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The preliminary list was adopted at the 34th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, in the capital of Brazil, where Serbia's delegation is headed by Serbian Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic.
"Presentation of our cultural sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List is very important at the moment since Serbia has submitted membership application for the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the period between 2011 and 2015," Bradic told Tanjug.
The Committee's session will take place from July 25 to August 3.
