Serbian President Boris Tadic and President of the “Calzedonia” Group Sandro Veronesi have opened a confection factory Fiorano in Sombor, which will employ 700 workers.

Serbian President Boris Tadic and President of the “Calzedonia” Group Sandro Veronesi have opened a confection factory Fiorano in Sombor, which will employ 700 workers.

Tadic has stated that the opening of a factory of one of world’s larges underwear manufacturers in Sombor is a message to foreign investors that Serbia is an attractive destination. For me, as the president, the opening of new working places is the most important issue in Serbia, said Tadic.

According to him, today it is most difficult to provide jobs and all countries are trying to win over the investors in a tough competition.

The Serbian President has repeated he will give a medal to each foreign investor who opens 1,000 new working places.

Tadic has expressed pleasure that the opening of the Fiorano factory has taken place prior to the official visit of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to Serbia.

Italian Ambassador to Serbia Armando Varicchio has stated that the investment by “Calzedonia” is a sign of great confidence his country has in Serbia. The value of the latest investment in Sombor is 16 million euro, and this group has a network of 3,000 shops around the world.
