In cooperation with Serbian state authorities, TELEKOM will find solutions for those regions, until which time Telekom workers will be on duty day and night to preserve the equipment and base stations.

The technical coordinator of TELEKOM SRBIJA for Kosmet, Ilija Ivanovic, said the Kosovo authorities had stopped destroying the equipment and base stations of that company in the region of central and southern Kosmet.

In cooperation with Serbian state authorities, TELEKOM will find solutions for those regions, until which time Telekom workers will be on duty day and night to preserve the equipment and base stations, said Ivanovic.

On Sunday, the Kosovo authorities destroyed several base stations of TELEKOM SRBIJA, claiming that operator has no licence to work in Kosovo, although that is not true.

Some 80,000 Kosmet Serbs were left without a telephone signal and thousands of them do not have a fixed telephony signal either.

Serbian officials warn such moves by Pristina are against stability in the region and represent an obstruction of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, which should start soon in accordance with the resolution recently adopted at a UN General Assembly sitting.
