The Constitutional Court has decided that Rahovec shall go to elections, after they concluded that the resignation of Qazim Qeska from the post of the mayor on 1 July and his return on 16 August was illegal.

Several dailies report that on the same day when the Head of Kosovo Assembly has taken the post of Acting President, after the resignation of Fatmir Sejdiu, the Constitutional Court has decided that Rahovec shall go to elections, after they concluded that the resignation of Qazim Qeska from the post of the mayor on 1 July and his return on 16 August was illegal.

“The mandate of the mayor who resigned and then returned has ended”, concluded the Constitutional Court.
