A Kosovo Serb delegation, comprising members of Serbian opposition parties, met with Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Konuzin in Belgrade on Tuesday, where they expressed their concern over the current security situation in Kosovo.

President of the Serb Ethnic Council of Northern Kosovo Milan Ivanovic told Tanjug the delegation had informed Konuzin about the situation in Kosovo and their disagreement with Serbia's official policy towards the territory. According to Ivanovic, they do not agree with that policy because they feel it weakens Serbia's influence in Kosovo.

The delegation wants UN Security Council Resolution 1244 to be reaffirmed and the role of the UN mission in Kosovo strengthened, Ivanovic noted. He said the delegation was encouraged by Konuzin's views, who promised them that Russia would stay involved in Kosovo through the UN.

The delegation comprised representatives of Kosovo municipalities, the Serbian Radical Party, Democratic Party of Serbia, Serbian Progressive Party and Socialist Party of Serbia.
