Kosovo has welcomed and honoured as a hero the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayip Erdogan.

The Turkish leader has given guarantees to the state of Kosovo, has promised economic development and evaluated Kosovo as Turkey’s obligation.

Erdogan said that his state is ready to mediate in the improvement of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia with the aim of achieving sustainable peace in the Balkans.

“I don’t see any hesitation about this, no problems about the dialogue. We want a sustainable peace in the Balkans, everything that is good can only be fulfilled in peace. Kosovo has Serb citizens and needs to take care of them. We as Turkey have developed good relations with Belgrade, Serbia has expectations from us. Also, with my brother, Thaçi, we will talk and we will make the necessary steps”, said the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan.

Erdogan, who is known as a big supporter of the independence of Kosovo, is the first Turkish Prime Minister to have visited the newest state in Europe. He was announced as the honoured citizen of Prizren.
