Koha Ditore reports that political parties will have only ten days of campaign before the elections of 12 December.

Under the new circumstances, the Central Election Commission is expected to come up with an operational plan, which will be based on article 4.5 of the law on general elections, and halve some operational deadlines.

“There will be only ten days of campaign. There is no more time because the parties need to be certified, we have to give them time for certification, coalitions, and all this,” said CEC chief, Valdete Daka.

Asked whether CEC can guarantee the quality of elections, having in mind the short period for preparations, Daka said that the responsibility for the quality of elections belongs to the political parties.
