At the Investment Convention held at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Dusseldorf on Monday, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Mladjan Dinkic presented the Japanese businessmen with the possibilities of production and investment cooperation with Serbia.

The fact that the Japanese are for the first time very interested in Serbia's economy, at the moment when the global economic crisis is nearing its end, is very encouraging, Dinkic said in a statement for Tanjug.

At the invitation and initiative of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Dusseldorf, the center of Japanese business activities in Europe, Dinkic presented the representatives of Toshiba, Toyota, Fujifilm, Hitachi, Japanese banks and other companies with business opportunities in Serbia and the incentives that Serbia offers to foreign companies.

He said that the Japanese businessmen have heard a lot about Serbia and that they like the fact that Serbia is very competitive compared to other regional countries.

Dinkic also pointed to the possibility of duty-free export from Serbia to the markets of several European and Asian countries with over one billion consumers.

Dinkic said that a large group of Japanese businessmen is to visit Serbia at the beginning of 2011, adding that "Serbia is ready to welcome them."

He also said that, in the case of organized penetration of the Japanese companies into the Serbian market, they would be offered a separate industrial zone.
