After the talks with the leadership of the city of Kraljevo in the city hall, Obradovic specified that 9,744 students will be able to get back to school, while 6,688 will have to wait for school buildings to be repaired so that they could attend classes safely.
Minister of Education Zarko Obradovic confirmed that classes will start tomorrow in nine elementary and secondary schools that were damaged in the 3 November earthquake in Kraljevo.
After the talks with the leadership of the city of Kraljevo in the city hall, Obradovic specified that 9,744 students will be able to get back to school, while 6,688 will have to wait for school buildings to be repaired so that they could attend classes safely.
The Minister underlined that children’s safety is most important since Kraljevo, after suffering an earthquake on the night between 2 and 3 November, is still being hit by new quakes every day.
He explained that 31 schools are damaged and still cannot accommodate students. This is why alternative solutions will be found for students who will not be able to attend classes for a longer period of time, such as going to classes in other school buildings, or being transported to other schools which are safe.
During the talks between the Minister and Kraljevo’s city leadership, another quake registering 2.7 degrees on the Richter scale hit the city.
