The UNICEF office in Serbia sent Friday the first aid package worth USD 10,000 to the schools and daycares which suffered damage in the recent earthquake in Kraljevo.
The UNICEF office in Serbia sent Friday the first aid package worth USD 10,000 to the schools and daycares which suffered damage in the recent earthquake in Kraljevo.
Besides the school buildings, furniture and teaching aids were also destroyed, and many children were left without school supplies.
Following the latest information provided by the Ministry of Education, UNICEF will supply teaching materials and furniture to 23 primary schools and provide 10,854 pupils with basic school supplies, it was released in a statement.
Municipalities which realize the Local Plan of Action for Children have joined the UNICEF action.
UNICEF will continue to provide aid to schools and kindergartens in Kraljevo, all in scope of the activities of Serbia's United Nations Country Teams agencies, the statement reads.
