OSCE: MUP's Strategy will advance police reform process in Serbia

Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Dimitrios Kypreos welcomed on Friday the adoption of the Serbian Interior Ministry 2011-2016 Development Strategy, stressing that it will advance the country's police reform work.

Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Dimitrios Kypreos welcomed on Friday the adoption of the Serbian Interior Ministry 2011-2016 Development Strategy, stressing that it will advance the country's police reform work.

“This landmark document paves the way for future priorities in police reform and contributes to bringing the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) and the police service in line with modern international standards," Kypreos said.

According to him, the Strategy incorporates the OSCE Mission's comments and recommendations as well as input from civil society and public debates making it a strong document.

The Strategy will provide guidelines for the Interior Ministry's future efforts, an OSCE statement reads
